Known weakness

A nominal yield moves with global rates and inflation expectations as well as UK fiscal risk, so it is not a pure measure of confidence in the public finances; a rise shared with US and German yields says less about the UK than a rise against them. It also feeds the debt interest indicator with a lag, so the two partly overlap.
